Prof. Dr. Sandra Lorenzano

Sandra Lorenzano is an “argen-mex” narrator, poet and essay writer (born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she lives in Mexico since 1976). She completed her Ph. D. at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and she received support from the National System of Researchers and the National System of Art Creators. She is Professor at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and at the Middlebury College’s School of Spanish graduate programme (United States). Currently, she is Director of Culture and Communication in the Coordination for Gender Equality at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and coordinator of the “Cultura y migración” Project (UNESCO, UNAM and Autonomous University of Madrid). She was editor in the books La literatura es una película. Revisiones sobre Manuel Puig (1997), Aproximaciones a Sor Juana (2005), Políticas de la memoria: tensiones en la palabra y la imagen (2007), Lo escrito mañana. Narradores mexicanos nacidos en los 60 (2010), and Pasiones y obsesiones. Secretos del oficio de escribir (2013). Among her books, there are also others, such as the novels Saudades (2007), Fuga en mí menor (2012), La estirpe del silencio (2015), and El día que no fue (2019).
