Olivia Cosentino M.A.

Olivia Cosentino is a PhD student in Latin American Literary and Cultural Studies at the University of South Carolina. She specializes in 20th and 21st Mexican cinema and culture. Olivia is particularly interested in gender, violence and affect theory. She has published on the contemporary Mexican youth road film and 20th century mass-media paths to female stardom in edited volumes. Her article on Lucerito and 1980s Mexican media appeared in The Velvet Light Trap (2016) and she has written book reviews for Revista de Estudios Hispanicos and Studies in Spanish and Latin American Cinemas. Her essay on ¿Qué le dijiste a Dios?, intimate labor and queer camp is forthcoming in Domestic Labor in 21st Century Latin American Cinema (Palgrave Macmillan).
