In our third Encounter in Comala we spoke with Fernanda Valadez and Astrid Rondero, director and producer of the most awarded Mexican film of 2021: Sin señas particulares (2020).

Astrid Rondero, producer, and Fernanda Valadez, director, as well as screenwriters of last year’s most successful feature film at the Ariel Awards with nine awards, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best Actress. We are talking about the Mexican film Sin señas particulares. A fiction feature film, released in 2020, and very close, however, to documentary, which tells a shocking and, unfortunately, plausible story that does not leave the viewer indifferent. It is about the life of Magdalena, a mother who has not heard from her son for months after he left home to cross the idealized border of the United States.
