custom_height=&#8221;80&#8243;][vc_column_text]\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #b0b0b0;\">Prof. Dr. Guido Rings<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-7972\" src=\"https:\/\/www.imex-revista.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Guido-Rings_iMex.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"220\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #b0b0b0;\">Guido Rings is Emeritus Professor of Postcolonial Studies, co-director of the Anglia Ruskin Research Centre for Intercultural and Multilingual Studies (ARRCIMS), and co-founder of <em>German as a Foreign Language<\/em> and <em>iMex<\/em>, the first internet journals in Europe for their respective fields.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #b0b0b0;\">Professor Rings has widely published within different areas of postcolonial studies as well as European languages and cultural studies. This includes the authored books <em>The Other in Contemporary Migrant Cinema<\/em> (Routledge 2018), <em>La Conquista desbaratada<\/em> (<em>The Conquest upside down<\/em>, Iberoamericana 2010), <em>Eroberte Eroberer<\/em> (<em>Conquered Conquerors<\/em>, Vervuert 2005) and <em>Erz\u00e4hlen gegen den Strich<\/em> (<em>Narrating against the Tide<\/em>, Lang 1996). He has also edited special issues for different international journals on Chicano cinema (<em>iMex<\/em> 6 2014, 3 2012), German migrant cinema (<em>GFL<\/em> 11 2010) and Spanish migrant cinema (<em>Iberoamericana<\/em> 34 2009), and co-edited the volumes <em>Neo-colonial mentalities in contemporary Europe<\/em> (with A. Ife 2008), <em>Bilderwelten, Textwelten, Comicwelten<\/em> (<em>Worlds of Images, Worlds of Texts, Worlds of Comics<\/em>, with F. Leinen 2007) and <em>European Cinema: Inside Out<\/em> (with R. Morgan-Tamosunas 2003). In 2018, he completed his PhD on the subject of neoliberal portrayals in contemporary Hollywood science fiction cinema, principally investigating motifs in the genre vis-\u00e1-vis their relationship to evidence of changes in discourse since the Iraq invasion and the 2008 economic crash. In 2020, Stephen published his first book: <em>Critical Perspectives on Hollywood Science Fiction: A Neoliberal Crisis?<\/em> (Cambridge Scholars Publishing) and he is a regular contributor to Cultural Studies and Film journals.
