Mexican poet, journalist and narrator of Sephardic Bulgarian family. She has published several books of poetry. <em>Ansina<\/em> (Vaso roto, 2015), poems in Judeo-Spanish, is the most recent. Part of her work has been translated into English, French, Chinese, Arabic, Swedish, Italian, Bulgarian, and German.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #b0b0b0;\">Author of various handicrafts of visual poetry, including <em>Las dos tortillas<\/em>, <em>La poes\u00eda mexicana<\/em>, <em>Mapa de la suave patria<\/em>, and of the book <em>De par en par<\/em> (Bonobos, 2009)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #b0b0b0;\">Her novel <em>Tela de sevoya<\/em> (Penguin Random House, 2012) has had several editions in Mexico and Argentina. In Spain, it was published by Acantilado, and Les Figues Press published it in English (Los Angeles, 2017) as <em>Tela de sevoya \/ Onion cloth<\/em>, translated by Antena (Jen Hofer with John Pluecker).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #b0b0b0;\"><em>De frente y de perfil<\/em> (Government of Mexico City, 1996) brings together seventy portraits of Mexican poets (with photographs by Rogelio Cuellar). Nine of those portraits were adapted to television.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #b0b0b0;\">Together with Jacobo Sefam\u00ed, she is the author of <em>Por mi boka, textos de la di\u00e1spora sefard\u00ed<\/em> (Penguin Random House, 2013).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #b0b0b0;\">Premio de Poes\u00eda Aguascalientes (1988) for <em>Las visitantes<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #b0b0b0;\">Premio Instituto Cultural M\u00e9xico-Israel, 1999.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #b0b0b0;\">Guggenheim Foundation Fellow, 2006<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #b0b0b0;\">Premio Manuel Lewinski, 2017 (for trajectory)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #b0b0b0;\">In 2012, her book <em>Ivory black<\/em>, <em>Negro marfil<\/em>, received in New York, for the English translation by Jen Hofer, the Pen American Center awards for the best translated book of any language, and the Harold Landom Morton award by the Academy of American Poets.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #b0b0b0;\"><em>Tela de sevoya<\/em> received the Xavier Villaurrutia Award for Writers from Writers, 2012.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #b0b0b0;\">She is a fellow of the National System of Art Creators.
