<\/a>Jos\u00e9 Manuel Mateo es doctor en Letras por la UNAM. Ha publicado En el umbral de Ant\u00edgona: notas sobre la po\u00e9tica y la narrativa de Jos\u00e9 Revueltas<\/em> (Siglo XXI Editores, 2011), Lectura y libertad: hacia una po\u00e9tica de Jos\u00e9 Revueltas<\/em> (El Colegio de San Luis, 2011), Tiempo de Revueltas. Uno: la naci\u00f3n ausente [Jos\u00e9 Revueltas y Daniel Cos\u00edo Villegas]<\/em> (Obranegra: 2013). Jos\u00e9 Revueltas. Iconograf\u00eda <\/em>(Fondo de Cultura Econ\u00f3mica, 2014). Ha preparado tambi\u00e9n la edici\u00f3n de los poemas de Jos\u00e9 Revueltas bajo el t\u00edtulo El prop\u00f3sito ciego<\/em> y una antolog\u00eda con narrativa, ensayos y textos biogr\u00e1ficos del autor titulada Ver en las tinieblas<\/em>, ambas publicadas por el Fondo de Cultura Econ\u00f3mica en 2014. Ha colaborado en vol\u00famenes colectivos dedicados a Jos\u00e9 Revueltas, Jos\u00e9 Emilio Pacheco y Carlos Fuentes, y publicado art\u00edculos sobre las literaturas populares novohispanas y del M\u00e9xico de los siglos XIX y XX. En el presente art\u00edculo se hace un seguimiento de la frase “Gris es la teor\u00eda y verde es el \u00e1rbol de oro de la vida”, que Jos\u00e9 Revueltas tom\u00f3 como lema vital. Desde 1939 hasta 1975, poco antes de la muerte del autor mexicano, la frase aparece en cartas, apuntes y ensayos, as\u00ed como en los borradores de Los d\u00edas terrenales, <\/em>una de las mayores novelas del autor. Adem\u00e1s de hacer un m\u00ednimo registro de las ocasiones en que estas palabras del Mefist\u00f3feles de Goethe aparecen en la vida y la obra literaria de Revueltas, se explora el papel que desempe\u00f1a el Fausto <\/em>como sustrato de Los d\u00edas terrenales <\/em>y se establecen algunos paralelos entre Goethe y Revueltas a prop\u00f3sito de la forma en que ambos autores concibieron la teor\u00eda en relaci\u00f3n con la vida.<\/span><\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/tab][tab title=”Abstract” id=”1458143705926-0″ tab_id=”1472647402131-9″][vc_column_text]\n

In this article is carried out a follow-up of the phrase “Gray is the theory and green is the tree of gold of life”, which Jos\u00e9 Revueltas took as vital watchword. From 1939 until 1975, shortly before the death of the Mexican author, the phrase appears in letters, notes, and essays, as well as drafts of Los d\u00edas terrenales,<\/em> one of the greatest novels of the author. In addition to a minimum record of the occasions in which these words of the Goethe Mefist\u00f3feles appear in life and literary work of Revueltas, one explores the role that plays Faust<\/em> as a substrate of Los d\u00edas terrenales<\/em> and sets some parallels between Goethe and Revueltas with regard to the way in which both authors conceived the theory in relation to life.<\/span><\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/tab][tab title=”iMex N\u00b010″ tab_id=”1472647401726-1″ id=”1475497821676-7″][vc_column_text]\n
